Recent Success
Rathkeale St Matthews Senior College students Ferne Cheetham and Jonty Blundell are heading to The Hague in the Netherlands with 14 other New Zealand delegates to the model UN. This is an outstanding achievement and we look forward to a report following their trip in January 2011.
 
 
 
 
 
 Regional Scholarship Success
 
Timothy Foster has won the Alan McDiarmid Scholarship for Chemistry ($3000) and Tim Wagg the C’Art Scholarship for Fine Arts.  Rathkeale St Matthew’s Senior College would like to thank the Masterton Trust Lands Trust for their support.
 
 
Rathkeale St Matthews Senior College 2009 Scholarship Results
 
Rathkeale St Matthews Senior College students produced outstanding NZQA Scholarship results, particularly in the area of Visual Arts.  Out of a total of 20 scholarships, seven scholarships were in the Visual Arts of which six were for painting and one for Design. Three of the six for painting were Outstanding Scholarships.  This represents 25% of those awarded nationally for painting, which is a remarkable achievement.  Three of the art works have been chosen for a NZQA Top Art National Exhibition. 
 
Four Scholarships in Art History and two in each of English and Geography are also very pleasing.

We thank all our staff who have supported the scholarship candidates and acknowledge the support the school has received from the Masterton Trust Lands Trust that has allowed for extra tuition to be made available for students in Masterton schools.
