The Big Weekend
March 21st - 23rd 2014 will be a memorable weekend, as we mark 50 years of Rathkeale College.
To celebrate this significant milestone we have joined forces with St Matthew’s Collegiate which will celebrate its Centenary. Promoted as The Big Weekend, celebrating a combined 150 years, both schools will host separate programmes, joining together on the Saturday evening for a marquee Ball at St Matthew’s Collegiate – The Westpac Trinity Ball.
Located at each school site, a weekend full of activities and events will provide a unique opportunity for you to reconnect and relive fond memories.
The Big Weekend website hosts all the information for both the Centennial and Jubilee.
There you are able to register for the weekend, find out more about the events and activities we have planned and make your ticket purchases! Programme and prices here...
We urge you to register early and make sure you purchase any remaining event tickets (that are not included in the registration price) to avoid missing out. The Westpac Trinity Ball on the Saturday evening has limited tickets available.
Jubilee Quad Project
To mark this historic event, fundraising for the Jubilee Quad Project is well underway.
Thirty metres of tiles, each etched with student names since 1964, will combine with a series of low walls and convivial seating, transforming the Rathkeale College quad for all to enjoy. The focal point of the area will be four wooden pillars representing the concept of a “Good Rathkeale Man”. These have been developed to build on the values that were established by the founding headmaster E J Norman, who said that he “intended to build a school, step by step … boy by boy, virtue by virtue”.
