Rathkeale College - International Students
Rathkeale College is proud of it's tradition of educating students from all over the world. We have a well established academic and pastoral care programme for all International Students. This includes students from Japan, Thailand, Korea, China, Taiwan.
Usually there are between 15 and 25 international students residing and studying at Rathkeale College. The majority of these students are from Asia including Thailand, Korea, Japan and China but occasionally we are very fortunate to be able to welcome students from Europe. Students integrate quickly into school life and often develop close friendships with the local boys which have resulted in reciprocal visits.
Rathkeale College offers its International Students the opportunity to attend the Senior College on the Rathkeale site in Yr 12 and 13.
In addition to accommodating a number of International Students, Rathkeale also values it relationship with Yachio Shoin College from Japan. Regular visits allow for the further integration of students from overseas with their Rathkeale counterparts.
Rathkeale College has agreed to observe and be bound by the Code of Practice for the Pastoral Care of International Students published by the Minister of Education. Copies of the Code are available on request from this institution or from the New Zealand Ministry of Education website at http://www.minedu.govt.nz/goto/international.
